2012 NFID Influenza/ Pneumococcal News Conference

Assistant Secretary for Health at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Howard K. Koh, MD, joined leading medical/public health experts at the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) news conference to encourage all individuals age 6 months and older to get vaccinated against influenza. News conference highlights include:
- New influenza vaccination data show rates remain steady overall; positive changes among some populations, need to refocus efforts to reach others
- Robust vaccine supply available, targeting three viruses, including two different strains for this season
